Amherst Kids Closet offers no cost clothing for infants through teens for ALL!
That's right, we are a free little shop for families to come and find clothing for their children and swap out clothing in good condition from their children's closets as well. When you 'shop' with us, you help us:
Reduce clothing waste
Promote sustainability and sharing in our community
Save you money on basic clothing to reinvest in your children’s interests
There is no need to donate to shop at Amherst Kids Closet, but if you can help, we are grateful. As a non-profit shop generating no revenue, donations are crucial to our mission. If you are able to donate your talent, treasure or time, please reach out.
The Amherst Kids Closet Mission & Vision
Our mission is to support growing families in our community by providing essential clothing resources for infants through teens, at no cost.
Our vision promotes the sharing back of lightly used clothing to support a sustainable clothing community; thereby, reducing clothing waste and encouraging saved monies to be reinvested in a child’s interests.
Donate:
We depend on donations to be able to provide a no-cost shopping experience for our families. See our Facebook page for specific asks. We can always use cash donations to purchase consumable products that we offer like diapers, new socks/underwear in the package, etc.
We always need gently worn clothing of all sizes, including all of the following items:
Needed in Infant to Teen Sizes:
New/Used shoes
New underwear (in package)
Diapers (we accept open packages)
Clean, gently worn clothing
Outerwear including coats, hats, mittens, gloves
Swimsuits
Activity Gear including: dance, gymnastics, sports and scouts clothing/gear
Backpacks
Hats and Caps
Diaper bags, burp cloths and baby blankets
School Uniforms
Teen/Young Adult sized work wear including both business casual and casual (dress pants, khakis, non-frayed/faded jeans, plain shirts (collared or not), close-toed shoes and belts.
